Nine minority- and women-owned enterprises obtain almost $19,500 in grant awards | Area

9 house owners of minority- and women-owned organizations received grant awards totaling practically $19,500 from the Sharp Conclusion Entrepreneurial Growth (SEED) Fund at an awards ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

James Whitt, the director of Columbia’s Provider Diversity System and manager of the fund, gave out the awards at the event. The party was only accessible to the community by way of Facebook Are living, and the broadcast is now on the Provider Range Program’s Facebook site.

The fund, which is managed by the SEED Committee, was named in honor of the Sharp Conclude, a historic Black small business district in downtown Columbia. The district was destroyed by city renewal in the 1960s.
