Employee creates charity calendar of puppies at Sandwich Transfer Station

SANDWICH — As a bulldozer structured piles of trash and Sandwich residents emptied out baggage of waste, Michael King, an attendee at the Sandwich Transfer Station, stood subsequent to his SUV in the parking location and bantered with folks going about their dumping organization.

He identified as to a gentleman emptying some recyclables, joking that what ever he was throwing out was probably unlawful.

The guy answered back with something along the traces of: “Your mother called she’s ready for you.” 

The two men grinned at their faux-aggression and resumed their activities. 

King started at the transfer station in February soon after losing his former job as a tour guide at the Dexter Grist Mill, which closed owing to the pandemic. He claimed he thoroughly enjoys his new operate. He treats the people that appear in to the transfer station as men and women, he said, and likes to joke all around with them.  

He’s befriended the dogs they bring with them, too.

King’s adore of dogs enthusiastic him to create a 2022 calendar with photo of pet dogs that occur to the Sandwich Transfer Station with their entrepreneurs. He hopes to sell the calendars to increase cash for the Animal Rescue League in Brewster. He’s aiming to have the calendars prepared ahead of Halloween.
